Try to divide the Processing costs with the Gross sales amount from your current stats. See if it matches the 4.9% or not.

Or are you saying that the 5% holdback added to the 4.9% discount processing rate effectively (at least in the short term of six months) doubles the processing rate to approx 9%? It's one or the other. Zombaio only claimed they were adding a holdback. not actually raising the processing rates too.

Dear Client,
Due to pressure from MasterCard we are enforced a rolling reserve program on our merchant accounts with 5% for 180 days. This is by a PM, dated 2010-12-17. The reason for this is that the size of the account is massive due to the forecast we have shown. The development for Zombaio went a lot better than planned.
Zombaio has the last 3 years been able to offer the adult market reserve free accounts, but that time is unfortunately over now. What we however are discussing is a reserve roof limit, which makes the 5% go down over time to in our hope 0.5% ? 1%.
The reserve we are implementing is 5% for 180 days effective 2011-01-01 for all clients accepting MasterCards. For clients *only* accepting Visa, there will still be 0% reserve. For clients with a current 10% reserve, this reserve will remain.
If you rather want a fixed reserve, instead of the rolling, please submit a ticket in the ZOA.
We are looking forward to year 2011, with 24/7 support, new payroll programs, EFT payouts, ACH payouts end EU direct debits. This will help you earn more money on incoming transactions, and save a lot more on outgoing payouts or payroll.

I got a letter explaining the rate changes about 2 weeks ago
A mail was sent out in December to all clients, if you have not got it, you probably have an old or invalid postal address in our system.
Things changes, the community demanded things from us as the other 15%+ processors had, which lead to the increase of a few percent(!)
If you think 10-15% is better than 5-10%. If you think that one batch of late payments for daily payments (over 600.000 payments) is worth switching, then there is nothing more I can tell you, more than I wish you good luck and hope to see you in the future
I have complete confidence zombaio will be here for a long time, this is the first time payments have been late, the fee's are lower than most processor's, and if you process a lot it's hardly noticeable anyway
Raising the rates like that without telling existing customers is unprofessional. I did receive an email and private message in my Zombaio merchant back end interface about the 5% rolling reserve and an explanation why specifically about the Mastercard situation. At least we will get that back after 180 days.
But almost doubling my processing rate with no notice or even disclosure is unacceptable. I was paying 4.9% and now I have to pay 8.9% on a site doing under a grand per week in business? That changes the game for smaller webmaster, with one or especially multiple pay sites or VOD sites with recurring billing or a purchase of credits model.

The reason we announced this during December was because of the new year. It's a praxis in many business areas to change larger T&C over a year.
My pick is "Because we want to deliver a good solid product for the adult business". 4.9% to 7.9% is that really too much when ALL OTHER competitors charges 15%?
I remember when we launched with 7.9% year 2007 all of you said "its too good to be true"... now its not?

We would like to inform you that our office is closed due to Christmas Eve and New Years Eve on 24th, 25th December and 31st of December. Between 26th and 30th December we have limited resources but all departments are staffed to deal with any urgent request.
Of course the live system will be monitored the whole time by our operations department.

As you can see it didn't mention the new rates nor any word about the payout problems.
Normally all Zombaio announcements are sent both as e-mail and created as a ticket in ZOA.
But there is no announcement in ZOA about changed rates.

you need to understand when it comes to 3rd party processing companies there is a very bad track record and tons of people who have lost collectively millions and millions of dollars. If just one thing happens it is enough to get nervous. You guys raised your rates and your reserve and are late making a payment all at the same time. Then on top of that I believe i read that the payment wont go out until the 14th now?
That is more than enough to scare the shit out of people and make them run as fast as they can.

I'd bet most of the people in this thread know exactly how it works. Still doesn't justify the raise in rates. Because zombaio knew exactly what was up, so either they are simply greedy or they never planned to keep up the low rates and only did so originally to trick people into using them.
if you enter the admin area and check your payouts you will see that all the payouts til the 6th are on hold even the ones that arent due yet wich is weird why not fixing something tomorrow or monday is is affecting really bad your business and wait until the next friday 7th
