UPS Store Question

what kind of business doesn't have prices on their website? how much does it cost to use a UPS Store to receive packages and hold them? is it a monthly charge or can you do it on a per shipment basis?

Generally, for a UPS Store to receive packages for you you need a mailbox at the store. Last mailbox I had at a UPS Store was about $100/6 months.

these are gifts of various sizes for a model - so some are like jewelry sized boxes and others are quite large - that affects the price? 100 bucks for 6 months is decent.

Any size mailbox will do because if it is sent via UPS, Fedex or whomever, if it does not fit in the box, they just put a notice in your mailbox saying you have a package.

Any package bigger than the box they will hold for you. If you work on them, you can sometimes get a deal on the box if you pay for a year, or if they have a lot of empty boxes, but if the store is busy and has a small supply of boxes, you will likely pay full price.

wow, that's great. i thought they'd charge more for big items - an employee has to lug it around and then there's the space it takes up.

wonder if a UPS Store is a good franchise to buy.

I have a UPS box I pay around $140 a year. I have a key to the front door and can pick up mail 24 hours a day. If I receive a box they put it in a package locker and put the key in my box so I can get it without them being there. If I receive a large package they send me an email and I go pick it up from them. Works great for me, keeps the stalkers away from my home.

Not necessarily. The item is brought in the back door and in my case they expect me to move it which is no problem, usually let me in the back door, they never touch it.
Space is a problem however if its to often I think they would let me know. As it is maybe once or twice a yr.

You guys are getting some deals on your rates. I paid about $360 for another year recently to renew a medium sized mail box at the UPS store (formerly Mailboxes Etc) where I have had an account for over ten years. I would downgrade to a smaller box if I didn't have my same address registered with so many companies for payouts. Medium sized basically only holds regular sized letters and smallish parcels. They do hold bigger packages for you behind the desk. I can pick the mail in the box anytime with a key.

Depends on the location. We've been using one for years and it's around $25 a month. Great service though as they'll sign for any and all packages. Also nice if you aren't into giving a bunch of porn companies your actual business or home address.

One note though, despite them being called UPS, they really don't have much affiliation with them. You don't get good rates to ship stuff and they really aren't tied in in any way. Lot of people are surprised to find that out.

$20 a month is cheapest package they have and they will accept as many boxes as you get shipped in they just want you to pick them up in a reasonable timeframe.

the reason they dont have prices on thier website is because they are franchises im sure not every store has the same prices.

$20 is what i pay around chicago.

Try PostNet. They are half the price of UPS Store and allow you to ship with FedEx, UPS and USPS.
