I've just went and extended my generosity to myself by picking up a Bose surround sound system and Yamaha receiver. I got $850 discount on them so can't complain.

Defo closing my wallet for a month or two now tho!

Hey Dave,

Great Choice! I got the same kit with the out the mesh tom heads.

Funny thing is the sales person told me not to buy them if i live in an apt because the bass drum vibration will scare my neighbours. I didn't believe him and he was right. Even with i got two inch thick foam padding on the floor.

Im trying to teach myself how to record it or make my mac my *Brain* of the drum.

I went to Best Buy to buy a dyson vacuum because the cheap one I had wasn't cutting it (I've got a black lab to clean up after). I felt like such a pansy with just a vacuum also ended up getting a 42" plasma, which made me feel better.

LOL nice! There was some nice deals on TV's. I was deciding on wether to get the Bose Surround Sound system or not and a guy started chatting to me, he asked what I was thinking of buying so I told him the Bose set, he eventually picked one up, asked me for my advice on TV's too... the salesman helping him was pissed off coz I told him to get a cheaper TV than the sales guy picked out. It was so much better tho, the sale price was $300 cheaper than the one he was going to get.... I found it hard to get help after I finished chatting with the guy lol

Yea, I've used mine twice since I got it a couple of weeks ago, and it's got wicked pickup power. I still can't come to terms with that I now consider a "vacuum" a freaking Xmas present to myself, though.

I was surprised at how the clerks weren't overzealous on up-selling me on stuff. I went into wanting a particular LCD TV at a price point but they were out of stock and I was in impulse mode at that point. So after a few recommendations from the sales guy, and each of those being out of stock, for similar size in the exact price-point range for an LCD, I went with his pick of the plasma and so far am not disappointed. We'll see in a few months or so, I guess.

I don't think you can really go too wrong on TV's these days to be honest. I have a Sony Bravia 46inch LED in my formal living area. I love it so much I am buying the 60 inch version for my basement when it is complete.

It's all about what you do with the TV once you have it, ie surround sound, receiver, blu ray player or gaming system.

My girlfriend and I just watched a movie with our Surround Sound and it is absolutely amazing. I was hesitant in the store due to the price, but she bought me the receiver for my birthday gift and I paid for the Bose system, I'm seriously impressed with this.

I'm a double pedal kinda guy so the lower neighbour may start getting fed up with the knocking on the floor So I try to keep reasonable drumming hours.

Its been 2 weeks and no complaints so far

Did you hear about the drummer who was so depressed with his bad timing he threw himself behind a train?

I have a JS Ibanez, and all the toys I could wish for, didn't know what to get myself this year. Ended up with a case of mixed red from my favourite winery.
