I enjoy a Scottish Shower once in a while, but swimming at -36C?

These people (from a local club in Krasnoyarsk) went swimming in the Yenisei River on December 12, while the air temperature was -36C.

If it was that cold why wasn't the water frozen as well??? Was it a hot spring or something. -36 unless the water was heated it would be frozen solid like everything else.

if this is Yenisei River , probably this first or second day when temperature below 0 -10 ...in sybiria quickly down ...so maybe river not yet froze , but in a 2-3 days will freeze.

you sit in a hot tub, than run out and jump into the cold water.. apparently very good for the skin, cleans out the pores, Ive seen maybe ppl do this at camp during the winter time.. I would never thou.

I did it few times in Moscow, but only after sauna. They put a big wooden boat in the middle of the frozen lake, with a built in sauna and break out the ice nearby for jumping in. The coldest temperature outside was -30. You can walk naked on the ice after the jump, you feel nothing. All you do is smile and scream

A lot of fun.
