Gromjaw is tough. Keep in mind that some strategies will work most of the time, but when you face another type of fighter you will need to adjust.

I think for the Arena Challenges it also depends a lot on what kind of fighter you are; in the case of Theatrics, Gromjaw is tough but eventually with the right strategy he should fall; and I'm sure there is another challenge better-suited to our character type whom Rage guys might have a tough time with.

Ranking and movement depend on many factors...

How you beat your opponent
was your fight a challenge fight
did you slay your opponent

There are several others that we have figured out in the beta test, my buddy wouldn't let us in on everything he has going on. There are tons of little things in each fight that you can pick apart and use to your advantage. You just have to pay attention to them.
