I see your point, but the reason he is catching so much flack is because everyone is probably angry that he's contemplating the idea of not saying who it is and putting everyone in danger of getting fucked by the same person.
If this person had the full $11k to pay right now he would have probably done it already, the ONLY thing postponing his name could possibly do is get him like $1k at the most and that would probably shut him up for another 2 years until the world ends.

I get what you are saying, but believe me that is not the reason everyone is angry. They are angry because they want a name that they can trash to make themselves feel better. I got a better idea, you should do the Ycaza stolen wallet thing and narrow it down to a group of people so we can play the guessing game and all of those people will look guilty and be implicated. Make us guess for days then tell us.... lol that would be a blast!!

He (and apparently you) don't know how GFY collection agency works. When you wait 2 years to resort to GFY to try to collect, you not getting paid. He waited too long. Who ever owes him the money either has "their side of the story" and doesn't think they owe it or they are broke and don't care. It's been 2 years. If they didn't make an effort to pay him by now, a GFY thread threatening to out them isn't going to make them pay. Either he has been trying to collect and the person wont pay or he waited till now to really try to collect by threatening with an "out'ing".
If he has been trying along to get paid and has gotten no where, the person simply isn't going to pay no matter what, even if you out them on GFY.
If he has been letting it go all this time and is trying to collect now he showed the person he obviously doesn't need or care about the money. The person has written it off, no way he coughs it up now. Fuckers who owe/scam you out of money are always looking for an excuse not to pay. Letting them slide for 2 years, no way they going to pay now. They done wrote this debt off a long time ago.

this situation sucks bad. I hope you get your money back but I doubt you will and unfortunately, depending on who this person is, I doubt you will hurt his business much. That is a ridiculous amount of money to lend someone that does not live on your street man. I wouldnt lend that to a family member unless it was under an extreme circumstance.

You have to do what you say or you loose all credibility and many people will walk all over you once they see it. That said two years is way too long. After a month you should have insisted on something. Partial payments or if the person has no money some sort of work for you at a clearly defined rate and plan structured in such a way that if the person doesn't live up to that agreement everything is clear on what is still owed.Last edited by signupdamnit; 12-06-2010, 05:53 AM.

Not necessarily. Remember in law that the parameters surrounding a situation can change the outcome significantly. If there are terms in the contract (or other extenuating circumstances) that possibly could make said contract somehow voidable, then the person who allegedly owes the OP will be completely off the hook and does not owe the OP.
Thus, the OP's rant here (if he reveals the identity) then could be extrapolated as an instance of defamation and he could be found liable for damages incurred.
Never go into court or any legally binding matter believing that you have a situation that is absolutely in your favor. A few words (or a lack of them) and even the timing of the lawsuit can turn the odds against you instantly.
