    pricing estimate for website...

Hey folks...I was just wondering what you estimate would be for the price of a highly active...500,000 member, pagerank 7, political based forum would go for on the market...

    any ideas?

You need to have some revenue numbers to calculate that, but according to what I have seen on other forums, probably like $25k to start.

Then if you have paid advertisers, paid subscriptions or any kind of extra revenue, probably much more.

i have major political parties that pay me well to advertise their propaganda bullshit on the site...

how does it usually work? 3 years income + 1 extra year?

      thanks for your reply..

ps - sorry for the double post, the site was sluggish and i thought it was an error...

With a PR7 site and that many members the traffic has to be awesome. You do not nec need revenue estimates with a site of that standing, it speaks for itself and you are just selling what the traffic is worth. $25k is nowhere near it, lol Good guess tho Jovigirl. It would be upwards of $100k or more especially if you have a paid advertiser list ready to go.

Rule of thumb used at sitepoint is 10 months income = sale price, but there are variables such as the pr7 factor and the sheer volume of traffic which has to worth a substantial amount.

If the income is good, I see a $100K + figure.

Best of luck. The selling game can be a pain, but mainstream sites can be easier to sell than XXX.

I totally agree after reading the prospective advertisers interest.

I had no idea such a site existed, at half a million members it would be one of the biggest forums out there.

If you can provide more detailed monthly visitor/revenue/expense stats it would be easier to make a fair estimation, without those numbers all you are hearing is idiot guesses.

idiot guesses? I do hope you are joking. The question asked was how much a PR7 500k members forum with an add client list would be worth and that was the answer given. None of that other shit is required when the question was simple.

sure it is, if I created a forum right now and added 500K members you think it'd be worth 100k?

msg me on ICQ if you want to discuss this.

We need to know what the traffic is like, how many posts on the forum? How many posts per day?

                      Don't be so arrogant.

No one asked what a fake forumn with 500k fake users and pr0 would be worth. Its not about arrogance its about common sense. If the forum really has half a mill legitimate users and is at PR7 the traffic would be outrageous which is only logical. Think a little harder before you comment next time and please dont mistake clarity for arrogance.

why would you assume that? a mil 'legit' users? Since when do forums have 'legit' users, and what do you consider a legit user? I'm sure that at any point of any normal forum there is well over 50-60% of 'dead' users. Pr7 means you have a lot of traffic? Pr means NOTHING, he could have setup a dummy forum on a high pr domain. We know nothing about the traffic use, and nothing about the members base, nothing about the profits. Why are you assuming so much?

I can create a pr10 domain in 5minutes.. not to say that it is real.

this IS the internet, and none of this is directed at the thread starter or his forum. But just in general and to THINK a little more rather than just assume.

                            ????????????????

Juicemonkey, you are living up to your addy, more monkey than juice.

Saying you could set up a PR10 within minutes. In actual fact, I will take everyone you produce. Based on you charging me a $100 per hour, they will only cost me a few dollars each.

What a fucking dork you must be, the guy asked for an opinion. He was given answers based on facts supplied.

You should nip over to the tattoo thread, it is more relevant to your interests.
