Curious about this as well. I am thinking of setting up a few blog sites and knew WP was by far the favorite script but was curious what mods are popular and really help out as well.

Thats the two main ones that I use... Then you set it up to ping out to alot of search engines with every post and it works pretty well. I'm no expert on this though, can only speak from my own experiances...
Of course you could buy mine and live happily (sp?) ever after

wordpress is great. many, many plugins, many templates avaible 4 free, many designers with expirence in making templates for wordpress -> which means cheap templates..
all the blogging, web2.0 features, pings, trackbacks etc..
