    GreatDomains

Has anyone sold anything through GreatDomains.com???

I didn't like their requirement that I would need to sell at their "secret" reserve price, 60% of list in my case.......

And since no one had gotten back to me after numerous emails by me asking to clarify or change that requirement I sorta figure it's an inside way to get domains they either like or can move for better prices.....

buy low sell high...... wish we all could

I am not impressed with their customer service or response times. I've had domains offered for a listing with a price of $5000 and a $1500 reserve. Since they get a 10% commission ($500 minimum), I'm not sure they'd care if they sold it for $1500 or $5000 since their cut remains the same.

Yep, and if its really worth that 5K, you would have to agree to let it be sold for that reserve of 1.5K.

        That right there blows

I currently have 8 domains listed at "GreatDomains" and have received no offers.

The quality of names that GD now accepts is a far cry from what it used to be. I have some premium domains they have rejected, that are in my opnion much better than the ones they accepted. Can't figure out their selection process at all...

As far as the "reserve price" vs. the listing price, I don't see a problem. For starters, GD lists 95% of their domains at absurd over-the-top end-user prices. Even if a buyer bids lower than the list price (at or around the reserve), most owners are still going to be selling their names for more than they are worth.

Remember, you don't have to accept GD terms and list your names there. The fine print on the contract agreements they make you sign are also an issue. I doubt that I will ever submit my names to them again.
