I'm no expert in this field but my understanding is that people who set-up such sites and use a free based model (so no incentives to the affiliates) and this way the service is used purely as a file storage solution.

And yes I bundle them both in the same category, until xhamster, redtube, youporn, "insert your fav tube site here" make a concerted effort to stop content theft, then they are profiting from others work. What really sucks, is there are plenty of programs out there that are happy to upload full versions of their videos for free, so why let anonymous users upload something that they obviously don't own ?? And yes all 35k video take downs that I sent out this last month had our title copyright displayed up front of the video, so it's not like they didn't know that it wasn't suppose to be there
