    WTS: Profitable mainstream site

I'm selling Siesna Flip Flop Club, either selling the whole site or a substantial ownership stake. The site has minimal traffic (< 10 uniques per day) but IS PROFITABLE and I can post proof. It's earning $30/month in revenues right now, profit is around $15/month.

There is virtually no marketing right now; it could be more profitable with marketing and better traffic.

This is a Flip Flop club membership site; members sign up, pay $15/month and get a new pair of flip flops every month.

Open to offers. Selling all or a 75% stake (if you buy a 75% stake, you do everything but pick up and ship the flip flops, you keep 75% of profits).

Putting on my investors hat for a moment ...

So even since the domains been around 2012 I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and as archive.org records you've only been live since June this year, roughly 80 days ...

So 80 days in business and your sites grossed 2 paying customers ...

At roughly 30% grossed up tax, and I'll assume your hosting's costing $15 based on your (incorrect $15 profit), your actual operating nett (so far) is $5 ... I'm gunna give you a HUGE benefit of the doubt here and assume you have access to an amazingly discounted wholesale range of flip flops, brand name flip flops too like Reef etc as advertised (just as a potential owner I'd like to know we're not advertising product we're not delivering because that causes chargebacks, which even on the 2 clients u have now would operationally bankrupt the business ($10 operating profit - 2x -$35 + -$15 = -$90)) ...

2 paying customers in 80 days @ roughly 10 uniques a day, thats 1:400 conversion pretty sweet ... but my 75%, that get's me roughly $2 profit per customer per month (assuming you are getting your flip flops for ~ $2 out of your $5 nett) ... ??

... oh dang I forgot about shipping in all this
... and of course scaling the hosting beyond a $15/month host :-/
      ... and professional indemnity insurance
... and how are we paying for advertising
      ... and affiliate commissions

Aerosly ... I'm not knocking the business potential at all, it's a niche club idea where you obviously believe you can deliver competitively priced product on mass. It targets the female market, a high discretionary spending demographic. I just think you need to think about where an investor's coming from and be *very* careful about how you pitch it ... your NOT selling a stake in a mature profitable proven business, your selling an angel investment opportunity.

Best of luck with it buddy ...

      - David

        ...
I appreciate the insight and math! Here's a quick rundown:

        - Hosting: The site shares hosting with several of my other sites, and I have already factored hosting costs into those sites' P&L, so hosting cost is nil.
        - Material costs: I just shipped out this month's batch of flip flops, so I'll use actual numbers for material costs:
Goods sold: Average cost of $3 per, thanks to a great connection I have ($6 total)
Shipping: First class USPS is $1.67 per ($3.34 total)
        Envelopes: $0.49 per ($0.98 total)
        CC processing (@ 5% + .25 per): $2 total
        Cost of Goods Sold: $12.32
        Revenue: $30
NOI for this month, based on two customers: $17.68

Advertising costs my time, as does picking up and shipping the flip flops. Advertising has cost $0 so far, as I haven't done any aside from a few hours I invested in posting in some forums and creating a Facebook page. I don't have any affiliates to pay commissions right now.

Hope this helps clarify things a bit further.

        **EDIT**
Yes, if someone wants to take 75% of the net income, I suppose that would be an angel arrangement. I'm definitely more than open to selling the entire operation, though, so that would be a little different.
