    WhoIs

The company I pay for my domain have just said they are changing the company they use.

My WhoIs used to have my details there, but now it says the following

Registrar: DIRECTI INTERNET SOLUTIONS PVT. LTD. D/B/A PUBLICDOMAINREGISTRY.COM
    Whois Server: whois.PublicDomainRegistry.com
    Referral URL: http://www.PublicDomainRegistry.com
    Status: clientTransferProhibited

Any thoughts on this? I never paid to be anonymous, is this domain still mine?

    Thanks

    Pete

Did you purchase the domain and hosting together?

If so it sounds to me that, your hosting is switching domain registration companies.

My domain is with a different company to the hosting for historical reasons

I can login to the domain to change nameservers, but I don't understand why it no longer has my name on the WhoIs

If you can log into the domain to change nameservers, why don't you log in and unlock the domain, make a note of the domain's authorisation code and change the Admin e-mail address to your own.
Then set up a new account with a different registrar (controlled by you and no-one else) and transfer the domain to your new control panel - you will already have the Authorisation code, the domain will be unlocked and any authorisation e-mail will get sent to you as the admin e-mail contact to approve - hey presto, problem solved
