What bandwidth is really needed?

I have started to do my research in putting together a number of blog affiliate sites and in researching hosting I have noticed a significant difference in bandwidth with different providers. In starting a a blog site, what kind of bandwidth do I really need? Also, if I am consistant in what I am doing to build the sites up, what kind of bandwidth could I expect to need in say 6mos to a year?

In mathematical logic, more precisely in the theory of formal languages, and in computer science, a string is a sequence of symbols that are chosen from a set or alphabet.

In computer programming, a string is, essentially, a sequence of characters. A string is generally understood as a data type storing a sequence of data values, usually bytes, in which elements usually stand for characters according to a character encoding, which differentiates it from the more general array data type. In this context, the terms binary string and byte string are used to suggest strings in which the stored data does not (necessarily) represent text.

A variable declared to have a string data type usually causes storage to be allocated in memory that is capable of holding some predetermined number of symbols. When a string appears literally in source code, it is known as a string literal and has a representation that denotes it as such.

However:

The simplest case to imagine is a single string traveling in a flat spacetime in d dimensions, meaning that it is traveling across space while time is ticking, so to speak. A string is a one-dimensional object, meaning that if you want to travel along a string, you can only go forwards or backwards in the direction of the string, there is no sideways or up and down on a string. The string can move sideways or up and down in spacetime, though, and as the string moves around in spacetime, it sweeps out a surface in spacetime called the string worldsheet.

I assume you mean it is never ending. I can appreciate that thought. However when you first started out, what type of bandwidth were you accumulating and for what type of website?

If you are just starting creating blogs you probably will be fine on a basic shared sub $10 a month package that allows multiple addon domains and comes with the fantasy unlimited bandwidth. Upgrade later once you actually need to.

Again, how long is a piece of string? That answer is usually given to indicate that the information given is insufficient to answer a question. A logical person would give sufficient data to help those that are being asked the question arrive at an answer.

I'm betting that otto is right though. You'll never need more than a bargain basement shared plan.

In all seriousness, the question is based on not knowing. I can understand your point, and to some degree you are very correct. The crux of what I am saying is...I don't know, so please help.

I guess in being more specific I could've worded it more along the lines of:

"What has been your experience in the beginning in starting a blog"

That may have gotten a better response, I guess that's what I really want to know. For that, I apologize.

The initial reason for me asking is there is such a variable with hosting companies and what they allow for bandwidth before additional charges. Currently i am looking at CyberWurx and for the plan i like, they allow 10gb of bandwidth monthly for up to 10 domains. Will that be enough? Will it be enough for 10? (In your professional opinion)

It really depends on what you're putting on it. Are you hosting images yourself? Videos? and $25 a month for 10GB sounds overpriced compared to other offerings, unless you really need 10 domains on a VPS system. That just sounds really small to me, unless you won't be hosting any images/clips yourself.

Think about what you'll be hosting, the average size of everything, how many people you expect and how many pages you think they'll click around. Probably not the best calculator out there but it's something to look at.

It really depends on what the blogs will have on them. If they are videos and you use hosted videos from the sponsors then you have a min use of BW. But if you host them and the traffic gets big you could end up paying big.
