Reciprocal link checker (pre-submission) scripts?

Looking for a script that will check for a reciprocal link on a domain name back to my site BEFORE allowing a link submission via formmail (yes, we all know formmail is evil) to be sent.

Getting lots of submissions but its a pain in the ass to email people and ask where the link back to my site is.

Does such an animal exist? I've seen tons of programs that will check and maintain them, but nothing to date that will check first.

I stumbled onto this recently but haven't tried it yet. It may not be designed to do exactly what you want but you might be able to work with it.

I used to spider for links, found that too complex and problematical.

Now I parse my logs for referrers, I get exact URLs that my links are on, simple.

Of course that means that trade partner must not only place links but also send traffic, but that's good: you don't waste time on zero traffic newbies.

thats the general idea - ideally their link isn't added or the request isn't processed until the reciprocal link is up.
