    Joining an affiliate network?

    Hey everyone,

I run a subscription site and have done for a number of years now. We produce glamour calendars and sell pictures to the UK media, as well as offering subscriptions to our website (where we release all of the content we shoot) for $24.99 per month. We have never had an affiliate scheme, predominantly due to the fact we used the affiliate system to make automated payouts to the models. The way this works has now changed and we are looking to start accepting affiliate referrals.

Obviously we can simply offer affiliates the ability to signup on our site and promote this accordingly, but i was wondering if anyone had any experience with affiliate networks (ie companies who promote a group of sites). Obviously a load of these are private but presumably some of them must be interested in taking on new sites (assuming they like the site and the content obviously). I have searched the internet but it's difficult to find anything as the search terms inevitably return so much unrelated affiliate information. It would seem to me that whilst the income will obviuosly be lower, if you can find a good one then they can potentially take care of signing up a number of new affiliates.

I would be incredibly grateful if anyone could point me in the direction of any companies that might be interested, or any where i could research this further, or indeed if anyone has any experience if this is a good idea, or if we're better going it alone?

Thanks so much for your help as ever everyone, i very much look forward to hearing your thoughts,

    Dave
