Hard to find, in my experience, but often a camcorder hooked up thru firewire can be used as a webcam, and they usually also have remotes. My Canon GL1 works just fine for that, can be used as webcam in IM programs and in chat in flash .

i would bet that most camcorders would work. If i were you I would look for a camera with a remote and firewire and save the receipt if it doesn't work. You might also have to change some settings around to get it all working smoothly. Are you looking to do this over something like yahoo IM or something else?

cool then I bet a decent camcorder w/ remote and firewire would do fine, I've gotten mine to work just by plugging it in, turning it on and adjusting my settings on the computer. If you try it and run into any problems let me know.
