Decrypting DLC encrypted link files...

With all the content stealing and posting on forums that's going on, this is becoming a never ending battle.

I've now started coming across DLC encrypted files that hide the rapidshare links and can only be used with a downloading program (Jdownloader or Cryptload) making it very hard to find out what the actual links are so they can be reported to rapidshare for removal.

I've found tools to handle decrypting CCF and RSDF files but am still struggling with these DLC files, anyone had any experience with this and knows how to get the links out of these files by any chance?

.dlc encrypted containers are used to keep links alive when other "unprotected" links can be reported to their hosts because of violations of terms of service.

But in my oppinion there are very few people using them and this is not a big threat because you can already password protect illegal files with Winrar, which is actually much more common and easier than having to download decryption software.

DLC encrypts the links, Winrar encrypts the file content.

It's the encrypted links that are the problem, the DLC files are being used to protect links to files on rapidshare which is why I want to find out what the links are so I can get the files removed from rapidshare.

I've contacted rapidshare about it and they won't do anything because you're not giving them the direct links to the files...

Wireshark will take care of any encrypted link files and about 90%
of all do it yourself type security on the web. What Wireshark does
is show the communication between your computer and internet.
You download the link file and open it with the normal program, as
if to get the video. That program decrypts it and asks rapidshare
for the file, by it's rapidshare URL. Wireshark shows you the URL,
which is the first line of the conversation between your computer
and rapidsare.

WIreshark is also the main tool I've just used whenever you see me
post telling someone "be very careful about DIY security, that's going
to coenm back to bite you". That normally means "I just looked at
your system using Wireshark and it's obvious just by looking how to
easily defeat it."
