New to wordpress myself...I do know that anything you change will also change the way search engines read your site. As far as the side bar that moved to the bottom, you should change your wordpress theme to one that has more space on the sides. Some of the codes or images will push that bar off the page because it has no where else to go. Hope this helps...

      Sidebar issues

I'm a newb at this stuff, and there are a lot of very talented folks here that can help better, but I will give you a couple of things you can look at:

Is the problem in Firefox or IE, or both? (IE has issues with all kinds of html) If it is just IE, you need to check FAQ's and such to see if you can find the particular issue and code an exception for it.

Make sure that the content is not 'overflowing' its Div and 'pushing' content further down the page. For example if the Div is 180 pixels wide, the content and its padding and margins have to fit within that total. Watch for text areas especially, certain text if not formatted correctly, will 'overflow' and mess things up.

Also, make sure that you have properly 'closed' all your Divs and containers. (each <div> has to have a </div>, etc.) You can inadvertently put content into another container and then it does things you don't expect.

      Hope this helps

Check it on as many browsers and platforms as you can. IE is notorious for messing up CSS.

If you are new in blogs stuff and programming as well, you can simple chose another theme and keep that cute banner as well to the new one
              Good luck

I appears that the vids are too wide. You can adjust the height width in your embed code to bring them in. your pics seem to be fine at 440px wide. try bringing the vids in to match the pics. Hope this helps.

The Opera browser has some good debugging fetures built in so you can superimpose design elements onto a live page to see whats going on. These features are in the "view/style" section of the browser.

the theme is fucked up, don't know if it came fucked or if you did it by yourself. Try re-installing the theme or try another theme and you'll be able to find out what's wrong. Your CSS is correct, however all your posts and even the sidebar itself are enclosed within the entry.firstpost div

One thing you can and SHOULD do is make sure that all the posts have all the correct closing tags in the HTML. a tag that is not properly closed can do that.

So think back to the day you first saw that and start checking those posts.

Also if you have made any changes to the wp-content php pages you may have made an error. Check that as well.

Vids and pics are probably too big, make the size smaller...

If you are using firefox you may want to install firebug. Then use inspect element. This makes pinpointing CSS and layout problems in the future a breeze.
