    Anonymous company?

Guys - long time reader, first time poster.

Does anyone have serious advice on how to operate your site anonymously?

For example, let's say you got press coverage for some reason, or someone just wants to cause trouble for you - is there a way to keep your name private?

My prelim research indicates using a fake name, and possibly an IBC, but I don't want to go through all the hassle of an IBC - I'm not trying to shield $ from the IRS, just identity.

I do want to set up a real company, though.

    Thx for your help.

    hello and welcome to GFY
To be anonymous online it is to fantasy domain. It cannot be anonymous as long as exist a log which register IPs address, name, address, name on CC that you pay for services, your bank account where you received the payment..etc.If everyone wanna find about you they will find u as well, no matter how you hidding.
If you live in US, i guess a good idea it`s to be in legality with USC compliance and pay taxes as well , if you wanna sleep good at night.Or else..

Any other thoughts? - not trying to avoid taxes, just keep identity concealed as much as possible.

Set up a limited partnership or a single-member LLC, and register your domain using that entity.

This sounds like an option, though I would consult a lawyer. There are LOTS of lawyers that focus specifically on adult and would know exactly how to answer the question.

One that comes to mind is www.chadknowslaw.com. He's great!

form a LLC then create a fictitious name to operate under and file a DBA for it under the LLC.

For example.. Some Company Name LLC and then you register domains and operate under Some Other Company Name and file DBA for that with the LLC as owner

Beyond not wanting to pay taxes I really cant think of a good enough reason to go through all the trouble of hiding your ID.
I'm funner than AIDS, and easier to explain to your parents.

Thx fof the input. Could you explain this one a little more? Are you saying LLC owns the DBA, DBA owns the domains - don't you still have a trail to the LLC? I think that means I'd need an LLC or other entity where no directors names appear... Unless there's a way for the DBA to not be linked to the LLC - maybe I missed a step - thx..
