im not looking to start something like facebook. Take a look out there. There are a few little social places with nice little features which are horrible. Horrible i mean design, browsing u get lost etc. I just think i can improove on whats out there. Commitment is what i will give not a problem

I would suguest a combo site with dating, cams and all sorts of thigns like that. More like a portal than anything.

Starting up those community sites, even if they are small, take a bit of work. because if you don't do all the little things you won't get people staying, and that is ultimately what makes a community site a money maker, not the turnover...

Potentially you can find some high profile members from other sites and have them be "admins" and run the site for you and recruit their member base.
