    CMS or manual

Hi: I am planning to make few more websites, until now I liked to do things manually because of absolute control and I was afraid of bugs in free CMS. With less time available, I was thinking to make few niche sites using, mambo, joomla, or whatever.

I would really appreciate to hear experts opinion, will CMS influence SE or it is same as website manually made?

    thanks

I chose an CMS when I
    - have to make more than 10 pages for a site
    - have to update it regularly

Some of the CMS have some SEO functions, like making clean URLs and stuff. Also use a template which is tableless and have semantic like using h1 - h3 tags p tags. All those things are important for the onpage optimization.

Try drupal. It worked for me http://drupal.org/

For offpage optimization it is regardless wether you use CMS ore not.

I agree with steve. Either go with something that uses mod-rewrite to create clean-looking URLs, or something that compiles and publishes static pages. You could write your own CMS...

A custom CMS might work for you as well. Hit me up if you want more info. I can customize to exactly what you need so you won't have that problem.

If you are making a free site then you can make it manual. But if it is a site that you need to update reguraly then go with a cms without any doubt.
