    cPanel & DNS questions

I'm moving to a new dedicated server with cPanel soon. This will be my first server with an admin panel of any kind. Host says I'll need to run my own DNS on my server.

Is this the best way to do this?
Does cPanel integrate with my DNS software?
What about 3rd party DNS services? Do you recommend any?

I've heard that a poor quality DNS service can result in lost traffic. Is that mostly about the quality of the bandwidth to the DNS server?

    Thanks.

cpanel/whm has built in DNS. if you have just 1 dedicated server you might as well host your DNS on it - if the server goes down, then no matter where you have you DNS the site will not be accessible.

Yeah, make a DNS server on your new dedicated server. It's easy and it's in your control ;)

        Hi,
DNS Servers like bind are not really a good idea if you are not able to secure it. Someone can even crash the logger on the root server with an chrooted bind.

Maybe cou have full control of your DNS entries with the cPanel without your own server.
