I was reading on a techie forum that the idea of having a dedicated IP for each domain would increase Google PR was just a myth.
According to this discussion, 1000 diff IPs for 1000 diff domains has the same effect on Google PR as 1000 domains on avirtual account sharing 1 IP address. Assuming the host has the server and accounts configured correctly.
Otherwise, the millions and millions of web sites on shared hosting accounts would all be considered only a fraction (since thousands share a single IP), and that assumption would be just silly.

I'm leaning towards the belief its a myth because I have a handful of PR4 sites sharing a single IP with a dozen or so PR1, PR2, & PR3 sites. To say that Google doesnt recognize a site or gives it less weight because it shares an IP seems a little absurd.
Everyone's thoughts on this?
