    Registering 1st domain. Privacy issues?

Hey ive been lurking for a bit and reading up on this stuff. I plan to start a blog, and eventually a few, and of course link them all together.

If i buy a few sexualy explicit domain names, should i register using my personal name or make up/register a business name?

I dont want to type my name into google and see that dildoridingasians and blackdicksinyoungasians pop up for the 1st results. (those are examples, there probly already taken anyhow )

Im assuming godaddy has no problem with adult websites?
If i work a couple hours a night, how long will it be before i can start another blog? Ive got a decent knowledge of computers but have never used wordpress. Watching howtos on the net regularily. Im asking because i have about 4 domain names chosen but not sure if i should bother registering as i might not use them for a year or two.

    Thanks for the help.

Skip all that. Get your webhosting from DreamHost and use promo code FREEURL get your URL free with privacy (the domain is yours not dreamhosts). They also allow you to host your adult site

installing wordpress is a snap with dreamhost, one click installs. If you need any help let me know

this is the best place to start off.

Never but never get your url for free at that kind of hosts!
just buy an url keep it at ex. godaddy and then rent hosting services somewhere else. This will save yourself a lot of $ and time in the end!

NameCheap.com offers optional free WhoisGuard/Protection with every domain you purchase and I am pretty sure they allow adult websites, I could be wrong though. Any person who tries to do a Whois Query on your domain name will not get anywhere if you enable this option.

Adult domains are fine at Godaddy.

You can use privacy protection or get a business name, address, phone or voicemail.

              Thanks for the replys.

Can someone explain why i want to register a domain name with one company and get the hosting services from another company?

Are the "hosting services" things like fantastico, space, bandwidth, email addresses etc?

fantastico is cool but many other hosting cos have advantages (dreamhost has a one click install for wordpress blogs). namecheap can't go wrong for privacy with the whoisguard, it's free when you register a new domain name, then you it comes to renew the whois is like $1.50 or something

So when one day you decide to change hosting, you can easily do so without being blackmailed by the first host with your own domain name.

I'd suggest you read up more before signing up for any random webhost.

Does anyone know of any writeups or FAQs regarding hosting providers?

I have been using Godaddy for the last 5 years and never faced any issues. They have a very good 24/7 customer support as well. Yes it is best to register a domain with a domain registrar, use the paid privacy (if you need that) and then point the domain to your host.

You can always move your content to a new host and point the DNS there until you've gotten the transfer done.

Just go for Namecheap and some good hosting, don't ever go with freestuff, if you don't control it ..... it can only go wrong

Register your domains with goviphosting.com they will make your domain names fully secured via private registration for no cost to you, and their domains are pretty cheaper than godaddy and the rest

i host all my domains with them, and i have no issues
