Tour width

I have always sized my paysite tours to fit at an 800x600 resolution, assuming there are still surfers out there on that setting. I have been noticing more and more, however, that some sites (www.bigtitsboss.com for example) have their tour 900 pixels wide, effectively eliminating the 800x600, and targeting 1024x768 and up.

I am writing specs for a new design, and I'm not sure what size to use. What are your thoughts on this?

from what i've seen with stats and all, browsing at 800x600 resolution is on a rapid decline. 1024x768 is the new 800x600. there are still people out there browsing at 800x600 but they are now the vast minority. make em adapt or scroll!

if you have mainly broadband traffic, is anyone who is running 800x600 really going to buy it?

What I hate it is when they full screen my browser. What are they attempting to accomplish with that?... Other than making sure I never visit that site again.

968 wide is the safest bet for 1024x768 on all platforms.
