I've been browsing online adult webmaster communities for quite some time and recently stumbled upon GFY (thanks for all the great resources). I plan on attempting to make an entrance into the adult themed websites.

My question though is, how are so many people at these boards making decent/outrageous profits, when it is such a competitive market? Also, how large was your initial investment? And how long did it take to break even?

I understand that giving away specifics will obviously fuck you and your company, but without giving any specifics, how is it possible? Sure, there is an incredible amount of content to work, but if anyone could shed some light on my stupid ass question it would be greatly appreciated.

I think most of the people registered here do not make decent money. They probably make a few signups per month and are happy to have that little extra income for beer money. They all hope they will build up their empire and become millionaires though.
Giving away too much for free is the main problem this industry has. I guess no other industry gives away more for free than this one. Entry barriers are very low. Everybody, even underage people can start creating adult sites nowadays but competition is fierce. Conversion ratios are declining every year and most people build only for quantity instead of quality.

Keep learnin , keep browsin , Invest in some right shit and then keep on investin but then the question is how when and where to invest thats what u have to figure it yourself , done for the day !
