Tour or Join?

Anyone want to chime in about when its best to send traffic through to your sponsors Tour vs sending them directly to a join page, and how that may effect conversions. Anyone build your own tours? Any sponsors willing to build custom join pages?

Depends if you're letting them do all the work like just having a text link or a simple picture then passing them off to the tour to really "sell" to the customer then going to the tour is what you want to do.

But

If you're doing a whole gallery or a big blog write up or a affiliate page dedicated to something then send them directly to the join page, why give them yet another reason to bail out, plus if you did a good enough job selling it don't let the tour change their mind.

My site features a blog style review of specific scenes and include about 6 images. The reviews are over 1000 words and are a fun read, we break it down petty well.

I like the idea on sending them to a join page and might see if some of my sponsors will create join pages for me.
