wordpress help - static main, posts on another page

hi everyone

I'm struggling with gettting my first dating blog site up.

Is there a way to have wordpress have a static front page, and have the posts show up on another page, like 'new posts' or something like that??

I've found some stuff by searching google, but it's all specific to a post id, not just your rolling new posts like the front page usually is.

wp-admin > options > reading > a static page > chose your page > update options and there you go!

I ended up gettting help on wordpress.com as well.
I didn't realize that you can specify both a static front page and which one to post onto in that spot.

I had thought of something like that, but I want to use some SEO plug-ins for wordpress, and I'm not sure how to get it to include outside pages like that.

Also, because I'm new to WP I really wasn't looking for anymore learning points then was neccessary. I've already gotten into some of the php, and there realllllyyyyy are tons of plug-ins for WP, I'm a little bogged down with figuring out which ones to use.
