Which software to use to create rotating pics gallery

I would like to have a webpage created with few pics (hyperlinked so as to be clickable) on it. I also want the pics on the page to be autmatically refeshed with new pics from a folder with several hundred pics so that content always remains fresh on front page.
can this be done?
Is there any software that anyone knows of capable of doing so?
