looking for a search optimization service

I'm looking for someone that can get me decent search engine rankings for a couple of my sites. I've tried a few services in the past but was unsatisfied with the results.

Can anybody recommend a company that actually delivers?

Have you tried pay per click SE's? You can choose your choose your own rank on any relevant term.

I'm all over the PPC's including yours but Google and Overture have shut me out because they don't like the nature of my content.

I've found that the PPC's can be a bottomless moneypit, I need to blend some real search positioning into my marketing mix.

That's it exactly. GoTo/Overture said "no" from day one and Google started pulling my Adwords listings shortly after they cut a deal with AOL. You can still find some Escort sites advertising on Google but their story is that they are gradually dumping all escort ads and won't let me back on.

Hey, first, work with SE's yourself, don't let any idiots to steal your money.
Second, have you tried to choose not to display your ad on partner's sites on google?
Third, try to submit to overture many times, it depends on reviewer, if he ads your link. Many times my submission was rejected & many times I submitted exactly the same think again & got listed. Btw. did you know, that keyword teenteenteen.com doesen't represent the teenteenteen.com site in their eyes?

1) Thanks for the GREAT tip on Google, my test campaign has been running for 3 days without a peep from them. I usually get bounced within hours.

2) Overture is a dead horse, they don't have any sponsored listings for the majority of my kewords (anything with "Escorts" in it). They've refused to list TheRedZone many times and will even refuse otherwise acceptable listings if I have a link back to TheRedZone on those pages. I've resigned myself to reaching them through Inktomi, who provide Overture with the "additional" listings they show when there aren't enough "sponsored" listings.

3) I know all about the idiots you're talking about and have been avoiding them for years. I had hoped someone at GFY could recommend a service that actually delivers but based on the response to this thread and the one I posted in the main forum I'd have to say there are probably none to be found.
