Please help - can't delete forced download

I am an occasional adult webmaster, but encountered a problem while looking at a porn site. It appears that a program (or script??) of some type was automatically downloaded to my machine while I was browsing a TGP page. (I was not asked - it just quickly downloaded something to my box.) While I admire the tenacity of the marketer, the result is quite annoying. I have nothing against regular exit consoles, but what happened was really bad. The next time I closed, and then reopened my IE browser, my default start page comes up as normal, but then a series of other windows keep popping up. I tried to search my hard drive to see what files were recently added or modified and deleted them but I was not successful in getting rid of the problem.

After my regular start page comes up - then I see the following series of pages: www.everyone.com/searchbar -- then affiliate.getspace.com -- then some stiffycash popup - then the "Grabeasy2" installation box comes up. At that point I can say that I don't want to install that. Then I try to close all of the pop-up windows.

Any specific suggestions on how to get rid of this chain of events upon the startup of IE would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!
