    Question about purchasing traffic...

    Hello!

I'm looking into purchasing traffic for my blog from a variety of sources. However I did have a silly question...

When these traffic brokers say productive visitors, or productivity, what are they speaking of? To me it almost seems like ROI or return on investment, so when they say 150% productive, i'm expecting to make 50% of my investment in traffic back.

    Is this an accurate assumption?

    Thanks

productivity refers to the chance the surfer will click on something on your site - which obviously depends on many factors

100% productivity means the surfer clicks one time whilst on your site

Rage is right. That's why popup and popunder traffic is crap -- surfers close those windows as soon as they open.

If you buy traffic, make sure to buy clicked traffic (the surfer actually clicked a link in order to get to your site).

Also, many traffic brokers allow you to buy traffic by niche, which should make that traffic more productive for your site. For instance, if you run a MILF site, buy MILF-niche traffic. Gay traffic probably wouldn't be very poductive on your site!

Last of all, ask yourself what you want your traffic to do for you. If you want to feed trades, then the surfer's country probably won't matter very much to you. However, it probably will matter if your goal is to convert the bought traffic to affiliate sales. For instance, chinese traffic is notoriously bad when it comes to conversions (sales). Geo-targeting would also be important if you're running a location-specific site (a dating or escort site, for instance). Some traffic brokers allow you to buy traffic by location as well as niche.

If you're looking to buy traffic, try trafficholder. You can buy geo-targeted traffic by niche, and their prices are very reasonable. They've done great for me!

ROI depends on a lot more than just the traffic. There's the design of your blog, the sponsor you're promoting, and how well your sales pitch "preps" the surfer. Good quality "productive" traffic is just the start.
