For Sponsors that require a company name during the initial signup process...if you are a sole proprietor like myself, what do you put in that field?

Most sponsors nowadays insist on putting something in the company name there. I just use my own name. That info is not displayed anywhere. What is more troublesome to me is that most sponsor programs still insist on me putting my personal information in through a non secure website and display that same information on my personal info page, including my SSN. You would think that they would move to a secure website by now.

The best thing is to use your own name if you have no company name if they won't let you leave it blank.

That is true but be careful, if you get paid by check that 'company name' might all of a sudden be in the pay to field after which your bank might refuse to deposit it to your account. So be safe and just put your own name there.
