    Pagerank question

Does it have any influence of my PR if I buy today a domain and I start today my Blog and I edit the timestamp back of the posts to close than one year until today?

I mean does Google recognize it and don't give me a good ranking or has it no influence at all?

It's a question I ask myself now because of a Blog I have since a while and it's still PR0. The one I've edit the poststamps.

Another one of my Blogs had in the same time without edit of the poststamps already PR4.

The timestamp doesn't matter to google, feel free to import any old stuff you want. You were able to cheat some aggregator sites by using auto updating pubdates/timestamps some time ago, but google never cared for them anyway.

Google looks at the age of the domain, but the post won't matter. As stated by the other guys. DON'T mess with Google. They'll penalize you real quick if they think your trying to cheat the system.

                Why do you say that?

From what's being discussed in search engine forums along with the news on Matt Cutts' blog (Google engineer), it sounds like page rank will eventually have less importance, but not none.

The new Google buzzword is TrustRank--similar to page rank--but it will be based mainly on the "quality" of incoming links. How that quality is measured is up for debate.

But it will still be better to have, say, a PR4 site rather than a PR1. It's just that the search engine algorithms are changing all the time.
