How to get work when new

I've been watching the industry for almost 2 years and think i'm ready to poke my head into some work. I was thinking of starting with some web design and developing to start with. I was wondering where I could start to pick up some work? Im thinking of maybe doing some free work first to get some sites to fill my portfolio but I'm definitely open to any and all suggestions.

thanks, yeah when I made Brooke I just used the "draw div" in dreamweaver, since then I've obviously learned how to slice, and how to use tables properly. Brooke is my g/f so after I get some time I'll probably go back and redo everything the right way but I do appreciate the comments

Yes definetely, with so many good portfolios around no one will hire you if you don't prove that you are good. I wish you success!

Brooke is my fiancee. She has been to shoots, and does the cam thing so I've gotten to get an idea of what is going on. my camgirl listing site is up and running and now i'm trying to figure out what is going on with affiliates. I'm thinking of sticking with solo girls to keep the theme.

Affiliates is something brand new to me and one thing i've never gotten to experience, so this should be interesting. I signed up for a site last night and am already confused. They give you a whole list of banners and promo tools, but how does that track it back to your sale? I was afraid to put any up in fear of me driving sales there and not getting anything from it because I linked it wrong.

Any good affiliate will provide stats that will tell you where your sale came from.

By the way...if you have been studying the business for two years you should know what an affiliate is and should have been making money from affiliates before you were ready to launch Brooke's site!

The clicks are tracked by cookies, that's basically the way it works. You should consider setting up an affiliate program for your 'Brooke' website, after the redesign off course.

Yeah, she isn't a big fan of affiliates for a couple reasons. 1, because she does cam shows on her site the affiliates she had talked to wanted 50% of both camshows and memberships. I really dunno a way to accurately distinguish who brought what client to a private show, and there is no way she would pay out 50% of everything to someone who didn't bring in that client (did I explain that right? lol) And none of the affiliates she had talked to would do just the member section.

So that explains why i have my hands in the air with affiliates, never had to deal with them yet.
