First off you should really put a link to your site in your signature.

Second I recommend you sign up for Thunder-ball.net for free. It's an adult network of webmasters looking to trade links and as a newbie it could prove to be a goldmine for you.

Third I recommend you look into a one-way text-link ad. I just purchased one for only $15 a month on a PR 5 site. The small investment of money will more than pay off in the short and long term.
