Just wondering how long it took some of you to make your first profit in the adult webmastering biz.

I understand what you're getting at, and the "why" of the "Id like to know"... but there are many factors involved in how and why one webmaster sells, and another one doesn't, or takes longer, or gets a sale sooner. Only if all things were really equal and level on the playing field of the adult biz could you really gauge answers to that question, and have those answers relate to your personal situation. As I see it, if I were you and someone told me they made a sale on their second day out. And then, someone else reported they've been at it for 3 months and hadn't seen their first sale yet, I'd be worried by both answers. They point to a couple of different interpretations... (1) I'm not doing something right, or (2) I'm wasting my time in this business.

O I know it wont be instant results. Anything that is good is worth waiting for and working for. Its like I was told before "which was better when you finally fucked her, that ugly whore you just met at a party or the hot girl you worked at for a while until you got in her pants?" Im not discouraged dont get me wrong.

I suppose sales also comes down to content and repeat business. I mean if you buy a really good suit from a shop you go back there right? Well if you find a really hot model or paysite (or whatever) wouldn't you go back to the place where you found it to see if they have anything else you like?

I started back in 1994. Money was a lot easier back then. I got a check the very first month.

I think I waited two months for my first sale and like 4 months for my first adult biz check (it was $67).

About 3 1/2 to 4 months. I actually gave up on the whole thing, and then got a check in the male for $70 out of the blue. 2 people signed up for Fling: adult dating (under the nasty dollars link in my sig). It took a while, but now things have been picking up

The same month that I actually started promoting my site ($35 check!). Amazing, put a little effort into your site and the rewards are soon to follow.

In regards to competition, if there was no competition in your particular niche then it's fair to say that no one was making much money at it. Competition is a great thing online, because once you learn how to optimize your site and bring in traffic you're going to see some serious money.

A year ago I typed porn into Google and Penisbot.com was the first site, but now if you do the same thing yobt.com has secured the #1 position. There could be a myriad of reasons for this change but the bottom line is that just because a lot of sites are ranking for the keyword "porn" doesn't mean you can't do the same thing.

Ok I'm done spouting off in this thread.

Good luck with getting your first check and many more after that!
