There are definitely ways to make money with AdWords, and some of them can be fairly inexpensive. A lot depends upon the keywords or phrases you want to advertise for.
Popular keywords like "porn" or "anal" etc., are going to be very expensive to bid on, especially if you want to show up on first page of search results. But if you know your niche well enough, and know how visitors get to your site, you can craft a smart AdWords campaign that flies under the radar of bigger sites.
