    google sitemap encoding questionHi

I am trying to make xml sitemap for google. Somwhere,I've heard that encoding must be UTF-8. Does that means that all pages indexed must be UTF 8 (on mine site are Western Latin 1) or just XML file that will be used as sitemap.

    thanks

It's just the XML sitemap file, see: https://www.google.com/webmasters/to.../protocol.html

The Sitemap Protocol format consists of XML tags. All data values in a Sitemap must be entity-escaped. The file itself must be UTF-8 encoded.
