Word Press question - which plugins rocks?

Hi, I'm old in the bizz but new to blogs.

Which WORD PRESS plugins do you guys prefer for auto/mass add of galleries and text posts?

I need to post a lot of my own stuff (stories and galleries) so need to find time saving and/or auto plugins to help.. the problem is it looks like there are TONS of plugins and other stuff, so hard to find the best/right one.
