    Where should I begin?

I have been venturing online for several years, and the adult entertainment industry has admittedly struck me as far more lucrative than most (if not any) mainstream businesses. I have previously entered the wrong niches, and invested my time for nominal returns. Hence, here I am asking for advice before I once again dip my feet in an entirely uncharted industry for myself. I have been a silent member, read countless threads, and narrowed the options I (and any other newbies) have down to as follows:

    Adult Blog(s)
This seems like an extremely cheap route, but I am uncertain whether it will create enough conversions. After all, the main source of revenue for blogs are affiliates; correct? Perhaps I could hire a model, create a blog posing as her (with consent, of course) as a means of creating more interest for the blog. Even so, the earnings may not be so significant.

    Thumbnail Gallery Post (TGPs)
These, from my understanding, gain far more traffic than blogs. However, where does the pocket change come from? Is it from those visitors who then subscribe as paid members to the websites hosting the galleries? This also seems reasonable if these TGP affiliates pay an amount equivalent to other adult commission programs.

    Escort Review Directory
I recently ran across a controversy on this board involving stolen content by a forum. Though I won?t share my input on the matter, I did ponder the possibility of creating a directory and/or forum of escort reviews through the underlying concept of a forum. There are several streams of revenue that come to mind ? affiliate sales, paid escort listings, CPC advertisements, and so forth. Perhaps someone reputed on this forum, with SEO experience, would be interested in partnering with me on something along these lines?

    Content Creation
Judging by custom, unique picture/video sets being sold on this forum for $30 a piece, it seems rather unlikely that I would be able to make any profit after paying the model(s) however much they require to pose. Correct me if I am wrong, but shooting pictures and/or videos just doesn?t seem to be profitable, given the low price that others are charging here for creating them.

    Paid Website
This may be in fact be lucrative, but there are several concerns that arise here, primarily financial. Creating a paid website would require quite a bit of investment, as it entails (1) paying models for the content; (2) spending a rather handsome figure for an appealing website design; (3) relatively high expenditures due to bandwidth usage; (4) creating protective measures to prevent password-sharing; and (5) paying for incentives in an effort to gain affiliates. Yet again, this could easily be profitable if offered the right incentives (commissions) to affiliates but the initial capital-requirement may be well into the $XX,XXX range.

I see people on here posting pictures of their Lamborghini?s, BMWs, and others bragging about their astounding incomes. It truly motivates me, and I can only hope to match their earnings someday. Which of the above (or any unmentioned options) would be the wisest for me to invest my time in? Any help to put me on the right path would be truly great!

Mr. Websites, your post itself is quite informative for the newbies..
About your question, all the above aspects are for sure profitable, if you have know-how and money to invest. The question to ask is, what would you like to do\what could you be best at, once you have that money and knowledge to start?

Other than the above, you might just wanna focus on gallery business and Free Sites.
Try to make sample galleries and submit them with your referral links on them to all TGP/MGP sites out there with tools like Chameleon has. Once you are comfortable with the process, focus on Partner Accounts.

You can do the similar with Free Sites and Link lists,..

Remember, its a long way but the work is easy to do and you are free to work whenever you want, do it from home or while traveling and the income from commissions can be fairly enough to have fun.

P.S.: also, dont believe everyone who is posting pictures of Lamborghini’s ...just my

Sorry Mr. Websites for hijacking your thread for another question, but this seems like a good place to start into the business and I'd like to learn more about it. I've turned 18 within the last 24hours and would like to learn the trade, could you elaborate on how to setup a gallery business &/or free site. For instance what is a gallery business/free site? examples? I have some training btw in web design so I'm not completely lost, just lost in the adult biz. Again sorry Mr. Websites free bump for you in the long run.

(Also what tools/programs/advice could you give/advise having for a complete newbie?)

A really targeted blog is a great start. Pick a niche and then try to pick a sub-niche within that niche.

@ this thread and Phat Phil

I myself started out in this business roughly 1/2 months ago. I decided to go with a blog, and it is bringing in some fair seo traffic. At the moment I am still looking for good trades. (blog: www.teensqueezer.com)

At the moment I started to build some basic galleries which refer back to the local domain and my teensqueezer site:

              Examples:
              http://www.solidteens.com/galleries/2007/7/ba/index.php
              http://www.solidteens.com/galleries/...body/index.php

To make these galleries I use a gallery builder named ARYLIA, but I is also easy to do if you know some html/php, but since I am a lazy person, I decided to go with a builder.

As for a blog you could (should) use wordpress, which has great plug-ins and a very big userbase. Related (necessary plugins can be found at www.adultblogin.com)

I myself took the niche teen, but regret that at the moment since there are to many sites who are focusing on the same niche. I would pick something else since it will give you better traffic cause the there are not as many sites as mine.

As for the galleries, and like da man said: go with chameleon submitter. If you have some questions, just shoot.

Btw I did not started out with a TGP since it is harder to drive traffic to it (not seo), but with a small investment, you also can get that runing.

Ok. So you pick your niche (and possibly sub niche) and populate it with relevant content. Now what's the best way to monetize it?

With a regular niche I would just throw up some adsense and move on, but that doesn't quite work in the GFY world. Can anyone recommend any good affiliate companies, or programs like AdSense that are more appropriate??

                  Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, and I encourage all ?newbie? input as it will only further foster everyone?s knowledge. I have a few questions myself ? I?m looking at the recommended ?Chameleon Submitter? software, and can?t help but wonder why these websites accept our galleries embedded with referral links. I will number my questions merely to make it an easier read:

                    (1) Elaborating on da man?s suggestion, do these TGP/MGP websites expect a reciprocal link to their galleries, in return for displaying one to ours? Given that this can?t possibly be a one-way favor, aren?t you essentially suggesting that we create a TGP/MGP website?
                    (2) Are we to shoot the content ourselves for such galleries, or do we purchase sets from other members on this forum for a sheer $XX figure?
                    (3) If we are to create a TGP/MGP ? what is a reasonable figure of outgoing links to other galleries, or are there simply no boundaries?
                    (4) Here is a summary of the above information - we create a gallery (TGP) via a script (potentially ?ARYLIA?) , flood the gallery with content, add affiliate links to the gallery (relying on commissions for income), and use softwares to gain inbound links (Chameleon Submitter). Am I missing anything here?

TruthsAreUs, I have come to the realization that unlike mainstream websites, the adult industry primarily relies in commissions (therefore ?CPA?) rather than ?CPC? (such as Adsense). Thank-you so much for answering; you guys are all doing us a huge favor!

The websites (e.g. TGP's, MGP's) accept your galleries because of several reasons (among them, they need fresh new galleries on a regular basis to keep their site updated and interesting for those who bookmark it and come back; of course TGP/MGP owners are likely to place their own galleries with their own referral codes on their sites but sometimes the TGP sites just require more galleries than that;)

Also, with most of the TGP/MGP sites these days, you will need partner account to be able to post galleries. They are often free to obtain, but some are paid partner accounts (so as you pay for the pass, then it makes sense that you are allowed to post your galleries on their sites, although the listing is not guaranteed, unless you would have paid spot on their site.)

In any case, building your own TGP site for the purpose of submitting and making money on commissions is not necessary, but of course if you have one (or better more, because 1 TGP site means often nothing these days) - you can help yourself.
However, man can not do everything at one time (its hard to expect that you will be able to design TGP sites, maintain them, obtain trades, make galleries, post them.. etc .. etc.. all just by yourself).

I would therefore suggest you to stick with submitting at first, to get comfortable with the process of creating gallery/Free Site, using tools like Chameleon Submitter and Chameleon Confirmer, etc.... then start focusing on getting partner accounts..etc...and then maybe add more activities in the mean time (doing your own TGP, etc.. things needs time).
Of course, its your journey so you need to decide about your preferences yourself.

As for the content; you dont have to shoot it yourself. Well of course you can, but the easier way would be just to get some promo content from sponsors for the beginning or eventually to buy some content sets later.

Once you want to get deeper in this, there is an official all interactive TUTORIAL for Chameleon products that might also help. It was all made in Macromedia Flash, so you just watch and learn how to submit a gallery automatically, how does the process look like, how does Chameleon tools look inside, how it all works. The Tutorial is FREE to use and you might download it here:

da man, thank-you so much for your guidance! I've narrowed my options down to three - a (i) blog, (ii) TGP website, or (iii) escort directory. The former is ideal for SEO purposes; although, a TGP website would be unparalleled in gaining visitors. Gosh, so much uncertainty!

Could someone also recommend an adult host to us newbies? Is DreamHost the only option available to us? Are there any cheaper alternatives? Also, this may be a really vague question, but what do most webmasters on this forum do? If it's relying on affiliate commissions, then do most also operate TGP websites? I've been struggling to discern what individual (successful) members do on this forum to no avail.

I'm really tired, so please excuse me if this is brief... If I had to start over today, on the little to no out of pocket $$ route. I would start with a blog, and submit galleries to tgps. Really learn the ropes doing that for a bit, and see what else is out there. Blogs are the new "free sites" these days, and there is nothing wrong with that. They are SE friendly, can be updated quickly, and easily maintained. Gallery submissions can be used to drive traffic to your blog and or straight to sponsors.

As far as what do most people do? Well everything and anything. There are guys who do it all and make good money, and there are people who really just specialize in one part of the market in a niche they know. It's all about figuring out what you are good at, and what is going to make you the most money the quickest using your talents.

There are a ton of hosts out there, just post a "SPAM ME with cheap hosting" thread and you will have more than enough options. I saw that NakedHosting was having a special this week as well.

Gracias modF! I'm going to go ahead and setup a combination of blog/gallery website, and keep you folks updated on my earnings! Hopefully, this thread also put other beginners on the right path. I'm earning in the region of $10 per day through the website in my signature, have another arcade almost completed (hopefully adding another $10 to daily my earnings), and this adult blog/gallery in the works. I'm ultimately hoping that the latter will round my residual earnings to $100+ per day, thus earning me some change while I concentrate all my efforts on another business and/or job. I'm setting reasonable benchmarks, in my opinion, so let's see where things go from here!

I'd start with blogs and submitting free sites/galleries. You could see some quicker results on those.

                                    Welcome to GFY Mr. Websites,

It would be good as to pick up some books on html, php, css, mysql and on the Search Engine Optimization... You will chat with many people here on GFY and with a few exceptions you will get the run around from people who can't be bother to read manuals...

                                    Best of luck,
                                    .
