    Uk 2257?

What are the laws in the UK about adult content? We are getting ready to release a lot of our cards out in the UK and need to know what sort of laws there are about 2257 and all that jazz. Anyone have an idea of where to go for this?

May be speak to a lawyer would be best.

And regarding 2257, that is a US law.

Right, I know that. I'm just curious to know about a UK equivalent. I'll see if our lawyer knows though.

in the uk we have the obscene publications act which is years out of date, but there is also european law which is less restrictive, think it would depend on the niche of the content you have...

general advice is common sense. Don't work with any model until you've seen their passport (which you should be doing to employ ANYONE in the UK for ANY job)

Keep 2 copies of it, also a 2nd form of ID is good.

make sure to publish a method to contact you on the homepage, ideally on every page (standard business law)

There was talk about "RTA" becoming obligatory. Basically, make an entrance page that clearly states its a porn site. Include no naked ladies on this page.

It's irrelevant cause which 14 yr old boy is gonna go "Well I googled for 'Pamela Anderson takes it in the shitter' but I appear to have stumbled across a porn page. Oh dear, let me click on 'exit' and go and read up on the bible...."

btw get a lawyer (well, use him for his free 30 mins then get a new one)

Cool. Thanks guys. I'm not sure exactly what our UK guy will be doing just yet, but I'll look up the documents and find out a bit more and see about talking to a lawyer about it very soon.
