Simple form submit script. How do you do it?

OK I need to add a form which people fill in, press submit and it emails it to me. I am running free bsd linux server, not windows, so asp I guess is out.

So is it a piece of cake or more involved? Are there simple template scripts out there that can be modified to my needs?
