I have become obsessed with driving traffic to my main site. Sometimes I want to smash alexa. I get frustrated thinking it is so slow and how does my best girlfriend get up there and stay. I get really bummed and then I keep working at it. I get about 40,000 hits per day. The over achiever Zoe Zane

Well... Are those 40,000 hits as in file hits -- images, html...?
If yes, 1000 visitors per day, each opens up a page (let's say one page has 10 images :-) that's 11 hits per visitor.

Just look at your unique visitors and where are they coming from.
