Practical advice for newby

Hi all,
I am new in this industry and trying to set up a members subscription site. Now I just bought a lot of content and great movies. But somehow I need to show these on my members area?

I thought of splitting the movies up in pieces as 200mb is a bit large. What is a good size for each chunk of movie? What formats are adviced?

Are there any interface ideas that work and others that certainly dont?

Any other advice to make the site work? And retain customers (if any come?).

I'd offer several options, a full download an smaller slices of like 20-50mb, so users with very fast connections don't get annoyed by downloading too many clips and surfers with lower bandwidth don't have to wait an hour before they can watch the first part of a movie.

I personally prefer WMV as format, not as huge as mpg clips and still pretty good video quality.

For retaining customers: Exclusive content, quality, regular updates, teasers for next update in between maybe, interactivity (maybe a member forum with polls, vote for your favourite girl, this kind of stuff)

And a voting system may not be that difficult to design?

I subscribed to feeds to get more content on top of my own.
