    Beginner Advice needed

    Hi All,

Thanks for the great forum, I have read and learned a lot in the past little while. I've been a lurker for a while now and just decided to sign up for an account last week.

    So first off, Hello everyone!

    Just last week we got our first adult blog going using WordPress and the usual plugins (cache/seo/rss/etc), learning the ropes as we go. I still have a couple questions that I am hoping some of you can help me with. So here goes;

    1. I am located in Canada, but my server is in the USA (it's a Colo box, so it's my property). Any laws I need to be concerned about? I have a federally incorporated company, but that is in a totally different business. Right now this is all under my personal name.

    2. What do you think of the layout of my blog? I tried to make it similar, yet different from most adult blogs I've found:

    see it : doctorvertigo.com

    3. I have done all SEO in meta, title, posts and sidebar, is there anything else you guys would recommend?

    4. Concerning Section 2257, Do I need to put a notice on the site in the footer? Also, how do I know what I put in to the listing of content providers - If I click any of my links they all have different custodian of records. Can I not put one for the overall sponsor? Also, Do I have to list myself as a content provider in here as well? Do I even need to worry about this being in Canada? Most of the TOS on the sponsor programs I signed up for seem to require this so I am not sure.

    5. I am trying to do good legit SEO with no paid advertising for now, and am expecting to start seeing the first sales in about 3 months time. My domain has been with Google more than a year so no penalization, and I am already at a page rank of 2, and receiving about 80 uniques a day with no advertising or anything. Is my 3 month goal attainable with these current stats if I keep working at it? (Posting 5 posts a day, SEO, etc)

That's it for now, but I'm sure I'll have more later.

    Thanks for reading!

Since your server is in the USA, you should put up a 2257 notice. To be 100% compliant, you need to list your office address on the 2257 page, and keep photo ID copies of all the models which are on your site (even a little thumbnail you need that girls photo ID).

To be compliant-ish, you can list the addresses of your sponser's 2257 holder, but it's not exactly 100% kosher.

Anyway, you should really contact a lawyer to confirm anything you read here, and for your company's safety.

You know that has to by far be one of the best 2257 explanations I have ever heard of on any board!

Where were you a week ago when I was asking the same question.LOL

I did alot of digging around on this 2257 and from what I found on the boards no one could give a straight answer!

I also do not like the GREY area for free hosted galleries since I have read the 2257 laws and interpreted them as you definatley do most certainly have to have FULL records of models and the only way to obtain these are of course to spend alot of cash!
There clearly states you must have a link to 2257 info but it also state that anyone using such content over the net has to have full records so my question is how is it that everyone is getting away with breaking the law?

No sponsor out there is going to tell you that they offer you free content to promote themselves thats why they want you to refer others to them so they can in turn use or steal you traffic away from you and become rich!

So with that they just say that a common 2257 compliance is sufficient!
However go read the law its all in black and white!
So that leaves anyone in my opinion in the GREY area!

By the way good luck and watch out for sharks! We do swim with them on this an other boards!

Dont be in a hurry to trade as I was and now Im getting many problems this industry has changed quite alot over thwe past two years alone!

Oh and if you dont beleive my thoughts on sponsors go read these threads.
As a matter of fact I would highley recomend anyone read them!

Love the blog. Didn't know you could use Wordpress for this content, but can't find anything that suggests you cant...

SEO.. hard stuff. this industry is so competitive that you wont get far with the usual terms at all. Maybe it is better to build some site authority using less competitive keyword phrases for starters. When in about 3 months you rank close to the top 10 in MSN/Yahoo (google takes its time), you could slowly start introducing more competetive keyword phrases.

However, I am told by some guys in this industry that text advertising is the way to get traffic. It shouldn't be that expensive, but what do I know? I am just about to find out for myself as we are also just starting.

Good luck and if you feel like exchanging some ideas hit me on ICQ 7716396

            Thanks!

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I think we have a basic idea of the 2257 requirements.

Great info about the sponsors as well. Since we are so new, we haven't even thought about trading or anything yet, so that's the next hurdle to overcome
