it was suggested that i look into traffic trading scripts to increase my traffic.

can someone recommend a solid/easy-to-intsall php script?

I'm a big fan of ArrowTrader myself. It's written in C so it's bloody fast, and nicely hooks into Apache via server-side includes. There's a free version at http://arrowscripts.com; after trying out a few different scripts, this is the one I migrated all of my sites to use.
