Video Editing Question

I was wondering if you all could tell me whats the best program to use to edit my videos....I currently use pinacle studios but I want to know what most people here use.

Also I have recently started to edit videos so I'm not great at it...I would like to make a nice looking title before the video starts....any suggestions of programs that are great for making the titles or does anyone here do any custom work.

Final Cut Pro5...tough to learn but man oh man what it can do. But for simple editing there are much easier ones to learn.
