    Content Management Systems

My business partner and I have launched our first web site in February, and it has done well enough that not having a CMS has become an issue. With two more websites coming online over the next two months, I need to purchase a CMS fairly soon. Otherwise, the second site will be coming online at the same time the CMS is being implemented. And since I'm not into self-inflicted wounds, that isn't going to happen.

Instead of wasting time Googling content management systems until I'm blue in the face, I spent a fair amount of time on adult webmaster boards, especially GFY, and decided on four packages to be evaluated. Unfortunately, finding a detailed feature list, getting a return phone call or email, and scheduling a demo has been problematic for three of the four CMS packages. So, I'm here hoping to drink (or drown) in the GFY fountain of CMS knowledge. Here are the four packages and some additional commentary:
    1. aWiz v5 Paysite Manager from awizsoft dot com
      Feature List: Exists on website
Contact: Did not respond to email within nearly two business days requesting additional information or live demo.
Demonstration: Limited function demo on website
    2. Carma from toomuchmedia dot com
Feature List: Exists on website, but is mostly incomplete
Contact: Did not respond to email within nearly two business days requesting additional information or live demo.
Demonstration: Full function demo on website, but not publicly available.
    3. MAS from mansionproductions dot com
      Feature List: Exists on website
Contact: Did not respond to voicemail within nearly two business days requesting additional information and live demo.
Demonstration: Highly limited function demo on website
    4. SiteDepth v3 from sitedepth dot com
      Feature List: Exists on website
Contact: Responded to email within hours. Provided detailed answers to all questions via ICQ, but was available by phone as well.
Demonstration: Given access to full version with loaded content. Better than any limited demo.

I was learning toward Carma or MAS before I started contacting the software companies, but since SiteDepth is the only one doing a proper sales job (at this point), they may get selected by default. And that is no way to pick such a critical back office function.

Spam me with comments, insights, or raunchy photos. Or, hit me up on ICQ.

    Spanks!

I second that motion! Also, I know some people who have done some insane things with Wordpress. I'm a HUGE fan of that blogging engine and have seen amazing things done with it. For a paysite, probably not a good idea though.

        Edit: Seconding the second post...

Many hundreds of our existing and potential clients knows, we always respond during 1 business day (usually much faster).
If you have sent request and didn't get our response:
          a) check your spam-folder (sorry we can't be responsible for wrong settings of your spam-filters)
          b) check your mail domain/IP in spamcop.net blacklist - sorry, this is built-in filter which we can't switch off.

          OR:
          a) post on aWIZ support board;
          b) contact us in ICQ,
          c) submit a support ticket.
          d) send us email to the non-filtered email: foruseu...gmail.com

Hope there are too many ways to reach us.
If you really have investigated the boards - all these ways was explained many times, as well as the problem with spam-filters.
