My business partner and I have launched our first web site in February, and it has done well enough that not having a CMS has become an issue. With two more websites coming online over the next two months, I need to purchase a CMS fairly soon. Otherwise, the second site will be coming online at the same time the CMS is being implemented. And since I'm not into self-inflicted wounds, that isn't going to happen.
Instead of wasting time Googling content management systems until I'm blue in the face, I spent a fair amount of time on adult webmaster boards, especially GFY, and decided on four packages to be evaluated. Unfortunately, finding a detailed feature list, getting a return phone call or email, and scheduling a demo has been problematic for three of the four CMS packages. So, I'm here hoping to drink (or drown) in the GFY fountain of CMS knowledge. Here are the four packages and some additional commentary:
I was learning toward Carma or MAS before I started contacting the software companies, but since SiteDepth is the only one doing a proper sales job (at this point), they may get selected by default. And that is no way to pick such a critical back office function.
Spam me with comments, insights, or raunchy photos. Or, hit me up on ICQ.
Spanks!
