Why does wordpress do this? NEWBIE!

Sup all. My name is Kevin from Las Vegas Nevada. Been wanting to get into the adult webmaster world for a while, and now I'm motivated to actually get something up. My plan is to create a few blogs, create some TGPs and hopefully make a few bucks doin it.

Anyway, Im quite new to wordpress. I'm ok with website editing and creating, and can understand code to a point. So If i need something done I simply google it or search. The problem is I got a free template and I use the wordpress theme editor to delete some buttons and links I dont like on my sidebar. I delete them, save the changes, and go to view the website. They are still there. How can they still be there? Maybe Im using a cached copy of the page. So I reload it, and it still pops up. Then I click on my about page, and the changes take effect, but when I go back to the main page, the buttons are there! WTF! Should I go fuck myself?

Update: Now about 5 minutes later I reloaded and they are gone. But if I deleted the code, saved it, changes should take effect IMMEDIATELY right? I used firefox with wordpress to edit it, and even tried to view the page in IE to make sure I wasnt using a cached copy and it still said the same thing.

    Thanks

It's just a caching issue. Can trick you sometimes, I know! ;)

Disable any cache, from within wp-admin -> options -> cache (if its even installed and running, that is).

When you refresh the page, try doing a full refresh by pressing ctrl+f5, if you aren't doing this already.

I had that problem as well when i first started playing with wordpress so I started going right to the code instead of using the wp editor and never had problems since
